How You Can Help the DAC
The DAC is fiscally responsible, and a good community citizen. We pay our bills on time, and have no long term debt. The Disability Action Center devotes more than 90 cents of every dollar received to program services. The DAC is registered with the Office of the Secretary of State, where information from our annual financial report can be accessed.
The Disability Action center is an IRS qualified charity, and taxpayers who itemize their returns may deduct the value of donated cash and property. Unrestricted gifts allow us the most flexibility. Our largest current need is a broader program of transportation, followed by a revolving fund to provide direct financial assistance, ramp construction, and home modifications, and more efficient office space. Get Involved
Volunteers
Opportunities are occasions to take part in rewarding endeavors that have a likelihood of success. The Disability Action Center has as many possibilities to join in rewarding endeavors as there are fellow community members who have yet to achieve their full potential.
Opportunities are available to volunteer as a Peer Supporter with the Disability Action Center. Peer Supporters have personal experience with disabilities, and work with others, alone and in small groups, to seek solutions and better independent living options, or just to be a friend. Donations
The Disability Action Center is fortunate to have several secure grant awards that support essential activities. These awards do have regulatory restrictions however, and cannot be used for some critical needs. For more information about pledges and donations please contact Stephen Maglione.
